Konstantinos is paysafecard’s Esports subject matter expert and is well qualified to provide thought leadership on all things gaming and Esports. He has been passionate about PC and video gaming since the early ‘80’s – from the early days of Amstrad and Commodore to the high-end PC and console games available today and MMORPGs in particular. He’s a member of various gaming guilds, including Saber Paragons and Circle of Lords, which are the biggest Greek guilds in the MMORPG Star Wars – The Old Republic. Konstantinos is also a member of Mobius PVE – an online community for Elite Dangerous with almost 6,000 members. This personal interest in gaming is driven by his firm belief that it inspires the imagination and can develop useful skills. Specifically, for him, Esports is a great example of how games can promote healthy competition, fairness, new experiences and friendship through the internet. The combination of his passion in gaming, plus his deep expertise in online payments makes Konstantinos an ideal spokesperson for paysafecard which is a payments partner of choice in the Gaming and Esports industry.
Konstantinos Maragkakis is CEO and Director of paysafecard’s Irish business entity – Paysafe Prepaid Services Ltd. paysafecard is an award-winning online prepaid card solution and part of global payments provider, Paysafe Group. In his role, which he has held since December 2018, Konstantinos has responsibility for managing operations in the European Economic Area. Prior to joining Paysafe, Konstantinos held a number of international corporate, regulatory affairs and communications positions over a 15 year period, working across a range of industry sectors and European countries. Most recently, he was Associate Director, based in Brussels, for communications consultancy, Instinctif Partners. Konstantinos holds an MBA (distinction) from Solvay Business School in Brussels for which he completed a thesis on the use of cash for online payments.
